This oval carved and giltwood frame, in the George III style of the late 18th Century, is enriched by the acanthus leaf cresting supporting a tapered and fluted bracket, headed by an anthemion spray. The moulded frame is decorated with beads and gadrooning, all flanked by trailing garlands of bell-flowers, uniting the cresting and with a gathered acanthus leaf spray forming the apron.
