A fine carved and water gilded dining chair by Robert Adam and made by Thomas Chippendale for the great Room at Arlington Street, London. The serpentine scrolled cresting is bordered with foliage, wrapped reeding, and centred by a pierced anthemion cresting. The arms and seat are edged with husks, the arms carved with anthemia ending is sunflower double rosettes. The deep seat rail is carved with a central shell framing the legs. The legs headed by anthemia issuing ribbon tied interlaced descending wreaths on hairy paw feet. Upholstered in client’s own material. Supplied in both arm and single.
