This rectangular pier mirror illustrates the transitional styles that bridge looking glass designs of the late 18th and early 19th Centuries. The mirror plate is set between classical columns with leaf carved capitals headed by paterae and leaf decorated, classical urns. The cresting is formed of an eagle, supported by a gathered acanthus leaf carved spray, raised on a rectangular panel decorated with drapery.
